How much does teeth whitening cost in London?+
Professional teeth whitening at our Hammersmith studio starts from £750 for our Enlighten whitening treatment. A whitening consultation with us is £50, redeemable against treatment. Over-the-counter kits and beauty salon treatments are cheaper but use weaker or unregulated bleaching agents — the results are less predictable and in some cases less safe.
Is teeth whitening covered by the NHS?+
No. Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment and is not available on the NHS. This practice is fully private.
Is teeth whitening illegal in the UK?+
No, but it is regulated. Only registered dental professionals are legally permitted to provide teeth whitening in the UK. Beauty salons and non-dental practitioners are not legally allowed to offer teeth whitening — if they do, they are breaking the law and the treatment may be unsafe.
Is whitening at a dentist worth it?+
Yes. A dentist can use stronger, prescription-strength bleaching agents than over-the-counter products, create custom-fitted trays for even coverage, and carry out a clinical assessment first to check your teeth and gums are suitable. The results are more consistent and longer lasting.

How long does teeth whitening last?+
With Enlighten whitening, results typically last between one and three years. The treatment includes a supply of top-up whitening gel so you can maintain your result at home. How long your whitening lasts depends on lifestyle factors such as diet, smoking, and how consistently you use the top-up gel.
Who cannot have teeth whitening?+
Teeth whitening is not suitable for everyone. We would not recommend it if you have active tooth decay or gum disease, during pregnancy, or if your teeth have significant existing restorations such as crowns or veneers in the smile zone (as these will not whiten). A clinical assessment before treatment confirms suitability.
How quickly will I see results?+
Enlighten whitening is a two-week at-home course using custom trays. You wear the trays for a set period each night, and the full result is visible at the end of the course. Most patients notice their teeth getting lighter within the first few days.
